Brooke Christa Shields Bio

Brooke Christa Shields, born May 31, 1965 is an American actress. She was 12 when she began her career as a model for children. She won critical acclaim for her part in Louis Malle’s 1978 film Pretty Baby (1978). She continued modeling into her teens and was a part of many dramas in the 1980s such as The Blue Lagoon (1980) and Franco Zeffirelli's Endless Love (1981). In 1983 Shields decided to end her modeling career to attend Princeton University where she received an undergraduate degree in Romance Languages. Shields started acting again in the 1990s and was seen in small role in movies. She also appeared in the NBC sitcoms Suddenly Susan (1996-202000), where she was nominated for two Golden Globes. Lipstick Jungle (2008-2009) was her second nomination. Shields returned to NBC in 2017 and had a recurring role as a Law & Order: Special Victims unit character in the 19th season of the show. Since 2014, Shields has voiced Beverly Goodman in the Adult Swim animated series Mr. Pickles and its spinoff Momma Named Me Sheriff. Brooke Christa Shields is a New Yorker born on May 31st, 1965 in Manhattan. She is the daughter of businessman Frank Shields (1941-1903). According to William Addams Reitwiesner's research, Shields is related to a number noble families from Italy specifically from Genoa as well as Rome. These are namely (in chronological order of descent from 1355 to 1965) the Gattilusi-Palaiologos-Savoy, Grimaldi, Imperiali, Carafa, Doria, Doria-Pamphili-Landi, Chigi-Albani, and Torlonia dynasties. Marina Torlonia of Civitella Cisi from Civitella Cisi was an Italian noblewoman, and daughter of the American prince was Teri's paternal grandmother. Her great-uncle Alessandro Torlonia, an Italian nobleman was the husband of Infanta Beatriz in Spain. Teri was paid the sum of money by Frank's family to terminate the pregnancy.
